By using our services you agree to these terms that may be updated from time to time, and any terms included in your signed walk agreement.
Dog Run requires a key to your home in order to pick up and drop off your dog. Your key will be stored in Dog Run's safe whenever it is not in use. Employees will be given the key in the morning and the key will be returned to the safe at night. Dog Run is Bonded and Insured.
Our "Hikes" are off-leash only. It is the owner's responsibility to ensure the dog is trained for good recall, will obey a human, and will stay with its pack. Dogs that fail to recall, run after wildlife, start fights, or show bad manners in general will be removed from the Hiking service and will be offered private leash walks instead. Dogs that have been removed from Hikes may be reintroduced once their owners provide sufficient evidence of improved training and/or disposition. Dog Run is not responsible for the actions or safety of off-leash dogs, regardless of how they got off-leash.
Our "Hikes" regularly run across porcupines, coyotes, skunks, deer, and even sometimes cougars or bears. We hike in a wide variety of terrain and conditions. You understand that your dog is exposed to wildlife and a wild landscape, and accept responsibility for any inherent safety risks involved. These risks include but are not limited to animal attacks, sharp sticks, gopher holes, cliffs, insects, or anything that your dog may eat or roll in.
You must provide a properly fitting collar that has a City of Calgary license attached. This collar must not be able to pull off over the dog's head. You must provide a 6-foot or shorter lead with a strong locking clasp. Flexi-style leads are not acceptable. If your dog uses a harness it must be pre-adjusted so that when your dog wears it they cannot escape. Dog Run is not responsible for your dog if your equipment fails.
The maximum liability to Dog Run for any negligence not disclaimed by these terms of service is the purchase price of the dog involved.
If your dog causes harm or damage to any other being or property while off-leash, you are fully responsible for your dog's actions.
Dog Run's services are on a 'best efforts' basis during inclement weather. This means we will take the dogs out until they or their walker get too cold, too hot, too wet, etc. We may return to the vehicle to warm up and go out again, but we don't guarantee length or duration of walks when the weather, road, or path conditions are poor.
If your dog gets hurt on a walk, we will attempt to call your emergency contact information. If we cannot reach you, we will take the dog to a local veterinarian for treatment. We may authorize on your behalf treatment up to the amount you indicate on your initial walk agreement. If you did not stipulate a limit, you agree to pay any charges by the vet to treat your dog. We strongly recommend you carry emergency health insurance for your dog.
Your dog must be safe at home. Please don't leave them in the yard unsupervised. Please don't leave them tied up. We will place them in the house as directed; preferably in their crate or a special room.
We walk dogs in natural environments and that sometimes means mud and often means wetness! Please leave a towel near the door and we will wipe off the worst of the mud and water, but we will not bathe your dog. If you are worried about household cleanliness please indicate a room or area where we can confine the dog that will not be harmed by mud. The path from the entrance to the dog's room/pen/crate may get wet and muddy.
Dog Run invoices at middle and month-end. Invoices are due immediately upon receipt and payable to Dog Run Inc. Payments made more than 7 days after the invoice date will be charged an administration fee of $30 plus 2% per month on outstanding balances, plus any additional collection costs that may be required.
NSF checks will be charged $30 in addition to any other late payment fees.
Bookings should be made by Sunday each week. Late bookings are on a best-efforts basis. Cancellations less than 24 hours in advance will be charged full price.
